Have you wondered why people sing praises to the Living God besides shouting "thank you" to him?
Take a good look at this devotional:
1. My personality is affected by being able to praise God without being discriminated.
2. My reaction to others worshipping is wishing how I could worship like them. Yes I have raised my eyebrows when a lady at St. John shouted "thank you!" I believe that balanced worship is singing and dancing in joy of the Lord!
3. Blessings the Lord has given me:
• iPhone
• iPod shuffle
• computer
• iPod nano
And many other things.
Psalm 68:3-4 NIV
[3] But may the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful. [4] Sing to God, sing in praise of his name, extol him who rides on the clouds ; rejoice before him---his name is the Lord.
Psalm 150:1-6 NIV
[1] Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. [2] Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. [3] Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, [4] praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, [5] praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. [6] Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.
1 Corinthians 14:39-40 NIV
[39] Therefore, my brothers and sisters, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues. [40] But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.
James 5:13 NIV
[13] Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.
I praise Jesus for who he is and what he has done in my life! We should not discriminate against worshippers of the Living/Loving God who shout these thanksgiving prayers to Him!
So the next time someone in your church shouts a thank you, don't discriminate them in your heart by thinking lowly of them for their praise and worship!
Blessings!
